Wheat Stem Rust Races in Sinop, Turkey

چکیده
Stem rust caused by Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici is an important disease of wheat in the world. This also common Sinop province Turkey. The pathogen forms new races and these may overcome resistance present cultivars. For sustainable production, identification stem necessary. During 2016 2017, surveys were conducted wheat-growing areas from diseased plants, 42 single uredospore pustule isolates obtained. Using North American differential genotypes identified. most race was TTTTF followed TTKTF, RTKTF, TTKTC, RTTTF.

Evaluation and Characterization of Seedling Resistances to Stem Rust Ug99 Races in Wheat–Alien Species Derivatives
Stem rust (caused by Puccinia graminis Pers.:Pers. f. sp. tritici Eriks. & E. Henn.), a devastating disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), was effectively controlled worldwide for the past 50 yr by deployment of stem rust resistance (Sr) genes in wheat cultivars. However, a new stem rust race, TTKSK (known as Ug99 or TTKS) that emerged in eastern Africa, is a cause of concern because it has b...
متن کاملIDENTIFICATION OF RUST (Puccinia helianthi Schw.) RACES IN SUNFLOWER (Helianthus annuus L.) IN TURKEY
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.), with its high oil quality, is one of the major and most valuable oilseed crops in the world. Sunflower rust, caused by Puccinia helianthi Schw., is one of the major foliar diseases of sunflower. The pathogen is present wherever sunflower is grown in the world and causes important yield losses when severe epidemics occur. The objective of this study was to ident...

متن کاملThe emergence of Ug99 races of the stem rust fungus is a threat to world wheat production.
Race Ug99 of the fungus Puccinia graminis tritici that causes stem or black rust disease on wheat was first detected in Uganda in 1998. Seven races belonging to the Ug99 lineage are now known and have spread to various wheat-growing countries in the eastern African highlands, as well as Zimbabwe, South Africa, Sudan, Yemen, and Iran. Because of the susceptibility of 90% of the wheat varieties g...
متن کاملAssociation Analysis of Stem Rust Resistance in U.S. Winter Wheat
Stem rust has become a renewed threat to global wheat production after the emergence and spread of race TTKSK (also known as Ug99) and related races from Africa. To elucidate U.S. winter wheat resistance genes to stem rust, association mapping was conducted using a panel of 137 lines from cooperative U.S. winter wheat nurseries from 2008 and simple sequence repeat (SSR) and sequence tagged site...
